Privacy Policy for Load to Ruin

Short version: We don’t sell your data, barely collect it, and hate spam as much as you do.

1. What We Collect

When you subscribe or comment:

• Your email address (required)

• Name (optional)

• Payment details only if you voluntarily pay (handled by Stripe/PayPal – we never see your card numbers)

Automatically (via Substack & Carrd):

• Basic location (country-level from IP)

• Device type (desktop/mobile)

• Pages visited (e.g., which articles you read)

2. Why We Collect It

• To deliver essays: Emails for new posts (you can unsubscribe anytime).

• To improve: Anonymous stats (e.g., "40% of readers use iPhones") help us optimize.

• To process payments: Only if you choose to support us as a Founding Member.

3. How We Share It

We don’t sell, rent, or trade your data. Period.
The only exceptions:

• Substack: Hosts our content and manages subscriptions (their Privacy Policy).

• Payment processors: Stripe/PayPal handle transactions (Stripe’s Policy).

• If required by law: We’ll comply with court orders (but we’ll push back if overreaching).

4. Cookies & Tracking

• Carrd (loadtoruin.com): Uses basic cookies for traffic stats (opt-out via browser settings).

• Substack (blog.loadtoruin.com): Uses cookies to keep you logged in. No creepy ads.

• We avoid: Facebook pixels, Google Analytics, or other invasive trackers.

5. Your Rights

• Unsubscribe: One-click link in every email.

• Delete account: Email inquiries@loadtoruin.com – we’ll erase your data within 30 days.

• Access your data: Ask us for a copy of what we have on you.

• EU/UK readers: You fall under GDPR protections (even though we’re NC-based).

6. Data Security

• Substack and Stripe use bank-grade encryption.

• We enable 2FA everywhere possible.

• But note: No digital system is 100% hack-proof (sadly).

7. Children’s Privacy

Our content discusses energy collapse and AGI disruption – not for kids. We don’t knowingly collect data from under-13s.

8. Changes to This Policy

Updates posted here. We’ll email subscribers about major changes.
